Hi! I’m Melody.

I’m an Iranian American photographer and writer that finds solace in sunshine and a cup of chamomile tea. I believe that our stories deserve to be preserved. That’s why I help folks celebrate and honor their lives through photography that captures their purest selves. And with my 10 years in professional photography, I know I'm the right person to capture your spirit as you move through this life.

A little background on me + photos: When I was 14, my parents gave me a camera for Christmas and I immediately put it to work. I started taking photos of my dad making us breakfast and of my mom gathering up wrapping paper. I caught our dog napping in the warmth of the afternoon and my sister as she waved us goodbye through the garage. I was in love with how simple it was to catch time and document the slow in-between moments of the day. I somehow knew that these moments would be significant to me as I grew older, that I’d want to remember my childhood this way.

As I grew up, I always had my camera within arm’s reach. I studied Sociology (because what else do photographers-in-the-making study?!) at UCSB but started taking photos for friends and family in the meanwhile. I tried my luck with marketing and even started my own t-shirt company but I found that photography continued to quietly knock on my heart. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Other fun tidbits about me:

  • I’m currently in Seattle, WA but I’m originally from Southern CA. West Coast is best coast, as they say. .

  • Breakfast is my absolute favorite meal of the day. Eggs, toast and coffee are life. ☕️

  • I’m lucky enough to be a mama of two.

  • When I was in high school, I had a crush on a boy named Taylor. He passed me notes with drawings on them and I burned him a Hot Hot Heat CD. We lost touch until about 8 years ago when the stars aligned and we ran into each other at a bar in Seattle and fell in love. He’s the best person I know and an amazing father to our littles.

  • If I could live in Whoville, I would.

  • I can get down with some rice. Like, I can and will eat 4 cups a day, easy. 🍚

  • On any given day, you can find me listening to The Cranberries to *Nsync to The Smiths to The Faint to Beach House. 🎵

  • I love all the astrology, human design, enneagram findings that are swirling around. Whatever tools and methods exist to help us understand ourselves and each other better, I’m all about. Must be the sociologist in me.

It’s incredibly wonderful to meet you!
