Little River was about 8 months in these photos, and I personally think this is the perfect age for babies to get photographed. There’s never a bad age, because all the chapters are racing at the speed of light. And with every new chapter, you get a new layer of their personality to meet. But from 6-8 months, we still get to see most of the squish and rolls and round cheeks because they’re not walking at full speed. And if I can get babies when they still have the squish, I consider it a HUGE win.

This shoot was so special because the park had a few cherry blossom trees in bloom, and it felt like we had our own secret garden to get lost in. Plus, the way the light was filtering in and the darkness of the trees behind us, made for a beautiful scene. I’ll have to keep this in mind for next year and try to recreate this as much as possible!
