Lincoln Park Mini Session | Alyssa and Brendon

Yesterday’s mini session took place at Lincoln Park. It’s easily one of the most beautiful parks I’ve ever seen and it’s a hop, skip and a jump away from my house. Washington has so much beauty to offer and when it’s in your backyard, I find that it’s so easy to take it for granted. One of the blessings of having children is how they demand you to stay present and be in the moment at all times and notice all the rocks and leaves and colors that maybe you would have glossed over on your own. All that being said, the Helgason’s are an amazing trio and I felt so lucky to be there with them as they howled at the moon, climbed trees and made pretend s’mores. At one point, I asked Sophie to close her eyes and make a wish. When she opened them I asked what she wished for, hoping she wouldn’t combat me with the ‘I can’t tell you or else it won’t come true’ line. But she didn’t! She told us all that she wished for the moon and to that, I say, same girl. I want to wish for the moon too.
