Pioneer Square Mini Session | Kimjoy & Dimitri
Well, it’s no surprise that I love this location in Pioneer Square and any opportunity I have to be here, I take it. Kimjoy and Dimitri are such a delight. They are both insanely good looking, and so easy to shoot. They would have these quiet moments to themselves where they’d both start cracking up and moments later, they’d be hugging and be so naturally into each other. It’s not often that you meet couples that are affectionate and comfortable with a camera in their face.
This shoot stands as an important time marker for me. I was at the peak of my busiest month so far, and this was the last shoot I had planned for a few weeks, intentionally. I was looking forward to diving into post-production and planning for upcoming events. We chatted about coronavirus casually, but had no idea how real it would get within days of this Sunday afternoon.
Still in quarantine, I think about this day and how much I needed this break but also, how badly I miss being behind the lens to document the smiles and giggles and stories and truths. I feel a shift coming - an end to this purgatory. We might not be the same, but that might not be a bad thing. Until then, here’s to relishing in sweet moments of time that remind us of a not-so-distant past and give hope to a renewed and restorative future.
